Vacation homes simply so many aspects of travelling. When you’re in a hotel with your kids–you’re scrambling for dinner ideas, fighting over the tv, cramped in a one or two rooms. If you do your research–for not that much more money you can be living the high life.

Our vacation home in Orlando–had it all–a big screen tv for movie watching, a fully equipped kitchen for those who like to cook or just put simple meals together, and loads and loads of space.
We all had our own bedrooms with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding. On-suite bathrooms ensured privacy and relaxation. Top this off with a private swimming pool and hot tub in the backyard–and what more can you wish for?
This was our second time staying in an All Star Vacation home and the customer service is great. The main office has maps, computers and staff at the ready to answer questions. Nearby there was a plaza with a large grocery store and most of Orlando’s sites were just a short drive away.
I am serious when I say that my boys prefer staying in the relaxing house and enjoying the hot tub to site seeing. So on this trip–that is exactly what we did. We slept in, watched movies, tried out different restaurants and went swimming at least twice a day. There is nothing like having your own pool and not having to deal with kids splashing, smokers or noise.
In the afternoons–to cool off and bask in the sun and then at night with the heat turned up and hot-tub inches away so that we could keep warm.
We have tried hotels–with all four of us in one room or with two adjoining rooms, and to say that we get on each others nerves is putting it mildly. As the only women in the family–I like to have my own bathroom and my own television.
My kids like getting away but they still expect downtime with their electronics–not ideal but there it is. So for us–renting a vacation home-which isn’t that much more than two hotel rooms–is the ideal solution. Luckily All Star has homes of all sizes with different types of amenities to suit your families budget and preferences.

For my family, these laid back vacations have really helped to bring us together. Afterwards we look at the pictures and it helps us get through the Canadian winters.
